CONNECTING KOWLOON EAST

No matter if you are a smoker seeking a moment of solitude; a mover pushing a cart load of goods to avoid traffic; or simply a motorcyclist setting yourself free from a ton of steel. once you enter an alley way, you know you are part of a hidden community that shares the opportunity to enjoy this unique spatial freedom. The community understands its logic and respects its manner. The alleys welcome all in the sunny days, yet invisible and scary at night. Only the brave and the VIPs are willing to enter in this darkness. It is visibility that can liberate this space under the starless sky, hence lighting in an art form would be suitable for the situation in the alleyways.The concept is to introduce an industrial form of lighting art that can be seen as motifs along the alley walls, to reflect the mood of the days from 50s to 80s, via the means of local slangs of the time. By combining them with humorous graphics, the neon signs should act as a reminder of the culture we belong to.

那吞雲吐霧似的;

那推進木頭車的;

那停泊在牆側的;

霓虹燈是上世紀工業時代的光環;
